Climate change ranks high on the agenda. Municipalities, provinces, companies, non-profit organisations and also residents are increasingly more aware of the need to do something about this problem. The parties in Geothermal Heat The Hague joined forces to cut back on CO2 emissions.
Aiming for a CO2 neutral municipality
The Municipality of The Hague wants to be CO2 neutral by 2040. That means that they want to be careful with energy and encourage residents and companies to use clean energy sources such as the wind, water and the sun as much as possible. That is why the Municipality wants all new developments in the Hague, such as the building of new homes or other buildings, to be implemented with as little CO2 emission as possible. And in the The Hague South West huge steps have already been taken to achieve this.
Thwarting climate change
The climate is changing worldwide. One of the causes is a growing use of fossil fuels such as oil and gas. Burning these fuels releases the gas CO2 into the earth’s atmosphere. CO2 is one of the main causes of the greenhouse effect. Reducing CO2 emission is therefore a good way of thwarting climate change.
